
Cambridgeshire Global Grants programme is due to finish December 2007. During the past 7 years many local organisations have received grant funding to support their work.
The grants panel are celebrating the success of the programme on the 23rd October 2007 at the Burgess Hall, St Ives. Anyone interested in attending please contact the administrators of the programme, Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service, and ask for Chris Hendry for more details.
PCVS has provided administration and project management for Cambridgeshire Global Grants since 2001. The aim of the programme is to give local voluntary/community groups and small businesses the opportunity to apply for developmental funding for their organisations.
Successful grants will enhance people’s lives by increasing skills, confidence, motivation and self-esteem. Local communities and charities benefit through an improvement to the quality of life and increasing social inclusion for its residents. The Global Grant partnership consists of match funders and partners matching ‘in-kind’ support from both the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Cambridgeshire Global Grants awarded a total of £ 156,000.30 in 2005 across Cambridgeshire. The below graph shows areas the money was distributed to.

PLEASE NOTE: CAMBRIDGESHIRE GLOBAL GRANTS ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANY FURTHER APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME. IN ADDITION THE GRANT PROGRAMME CEASES IN DECEMBER 2007. Please contact PCVS if you require further information.
Projects will seek to enhance the employability of disadvantaged communities under the following five objective.
1. Active labour market policies
2. Equal opportunities and promoting social inclusion
3. Lifelong learning
4. Adaptability and entrepreneurship
5. Improving the participation of women in the labour market
Additionally, please note the following:
:: Applications for funding range from £500 to a maximum of £10,000
:: Only one successful application is allowed per calendar year Calendar years for this round of Global Grants is 2004,2005, 2006
:: Grants will not be made to individuals
:: Funds will be targeted at non-governmental organisations
:: Priority will be given to applicants who have not previously received levels of European funding
