Peterborough Infrastructure Group is a Consortium of charities in Peterborough provides representation on behalf of the Voluntary Sector and is involved in developing local voluntary sector strategy.
PIC have been funded for 2008–2011 by Capacity Builders.
The infrastructure group has created a vision and mission for developing the VCS in Peterborough to 2014 which is:
Vision
Our vision is to have an influential role in enabling the Voluntary and Community Sector to meet the aspirations of the people of Peterborough.
Mission
Our mission is to develop a strong Voluntary and Community Sector which meets identified needs enabling the sector to have good governance, high quality delivery, secure funding and effective representation.
Specialist Networks
A range of networks open to any group in the City covering Disability, Volunteering, Advice, Environment, Equality, Women, Older People and Health.
Peterborough Voluntary Sector Business Schools
The first courses were launched in March 2010 and will be available with current Big Lottery Funding until July 2014.

During 2007 the Peterborough Infrastructure Group members researched the needs of specialist and generic areas of the Voluntary and Community Sector in Peterborough. The findings of this work were produced in a report Peterborough Voluntary and Community Sector Report, which was launched in January 2008. The recommendations for change and development will be used in future capacity building and infrastructure work for our sector.
