With over 500 different volunteering opportunities in Peterborough, if you are looking to get involved as a volunteer there are lots of ways in which you can find out where you can volunteer. Below is just a small selection of our current vacancies:
Current Vacancies:
Alzheimer’s Society
Perhaps you have some spare time to help the Alzheimer’s Society as they are looking for a cleaner to help them with their basic office, kitchen and bathroom areas.
Animal Helpline
Dog Re-homing needs volunteers to help look after the dogs, keeping them clean, feeding them and exercising them.
Befrienders
Befrienders are needed by the Good Neighbours project helping older and disabled people regain confidence to go out on their own. If you enjoy talking to people and shopping then this is a great volunteering role for you.
ITV Fixers
ITV Fixers work with you people aged 16-25 offering them the opportunity to speak out about issues they feel passionately about.
John Clare Trust
John Clare Trust needs a book-keeper to help with their weekly finances. This is a great role for anyone newly qualified or who would like to keep their skills up to date.
The British Red Cross
The British Red Cross require trained therapeutic volunteers to provide massage and relaxation to people in hospital or ill at home. If you are newly qualified and want to gain some valuable experience, what a great way to get it.
As you will see volunteering in Peterborough has so many varied and interesting things you can do. Whether you want to volunteer to help with your employment searching, keeping skills up to date or learning new skills, build up your confidence or to give something back, it really doesn’t matter, the most important thing is to start volunteering today.
