Appointment of New CEO at Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service
Back To Press ReleasesThe Board of Trustees of Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS) are delighted to announce the appointment of Kirsteen McVeigh as Chief Executive Officer, effective from 7th August 2024.
Kirsteen joins us from The Carers Centre Leicestershire & Rutland where she has been CEO since 2019. Over the past 30 years she has worked across a broad spectrum of both the public and voluntary sectors, working with young people and in roles across education, health, social care, family support, and participatory arts. Throughout all of her professional and voluntary roles, she has remained committed to supporting individuals and groups with a particular focus on those within communities who are most vulnerable to societal changes and have the greatest needs.
Kirsteen says:
“I am really looking forward to joining the fabulous team at PCVS and am so very pleased to have this opportunity to lead such a well respected local charity. It will be great to meet with many of our partners over the coming months and especially those members out in our communities who do such vital work supporting others. I know this will be a busy time and there is much to learn, but I hope to have the chance to talk with lots of people to hear about the issues that are most important to them. By working and learning together in partnership, I am confident PCVS can continue to achieve many positive outcomes for the people of Peterborough, both now and in the future for many years to come."
The board of trustees further announce that our previous Chairman, Jonathan Jelley MBE JP, who had stood down to act as voluntary CEO since January, will return to his previous role as Chairman to lead the board.
Jonathan says:
“It has been a hugely rewarding and educative experience in acting as CEO since the beginning of the year. The deep insights provided to me about the challenges faced by the sector, our members, partners and indeed ourselves will be invaluable as I return to my previous role as Chairman. I am delighted to support Kirsteen in her new role and am very excited to have such an innovative and forward thinking charity leader with a strong record of proven success.“
