Further National Lottery funding secured to boost the health and well-being of Peterborough’s communities

Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS), are opening up further grants of up to £4000 for the coming year (2022)
Health Xchange is an innovative ongoing programme run by PCVS and funded through the National Lottery Community Fund, which began in 2019 to enable local groups to make a difference to their communities’ health and wellbeing by delivering projects to empower individuals to take control of their health needs.
It is aimed at small groups and Community Associations with income under £30k to apply for between £500-£4000 to run health and wellbeing activities. Groups can use the grant to fund a variety of community activities running from January to June in 2022, so that members of their community can have subsidized access to these sessions. The types of activities can include physical activity, arts and crafts, and activities, which will improve the health and wellbeing of Peterborough’s diverse communities.
The funding opens on November 10 and groups will have one month to apply Groups will need to be PCVS members and affiliate members of Communities East, a consortium of local community partners across East of Anglia. Becoming a member is simple and support will be provided with this along with help with the funding application process.

Stuart Haw has been running the project with PCVS and is delighted to secure further funding from the National Lottery to continue to help communities in Peterborough, “we are grateful to the National Lottery who have provided fantastic flexibility when supporting us to fund the activities of the Health Xchange benefactors.”

Likewise, High Heritage have been running inspiring community learning activities encouraging the celebration of resident’s heritage and backgrounds. This has been particularly impact for the many young people who attend.
