Calling Creatives – Metal
Metal are looking for artists who want to try out creative ideas to disrupt loneliness in Peterborough, Liverpool, and Southend. We are supporting 9 ideas with £2000 each to foster moments of laughter and connection, either incidental or with the potential to be long-lasting.
You don’t need to be based in one of our areas, but projects must be delivered in either Liverpool, Southend, or Peterborough.
Over the past year, we’ve collaborated with artist Luca Rutherford on research to gain an understanding of how loneliness is impacting our cities. We believe there is a strong difference between loneliness and solitude. Many of the artists we work with often seek solitude to develop their artistic practice, yet long for kinship and connection within their communities.
Loneliness is often compounded by inequality. A key area of focus for The Unlonely City programme is disrupting loneliness faced by people who are marginalised.
A local citizen panel will choose which ideas we fund – so your project will be picked by the people it’s for.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 21 October, 5pm
