• Understand what is meant by the term ‘safeguarding’ and why it’s so important.
• Understand your responsibilities for safeguarding people.
• Be aware of the different types of abuse and neglect.
• Be able to recognise indicators and warning signs of abuse and neglect in children and adults.
• Understand what to do if you have concerns or someone discloses abuse to you.
• Know how to report and record concerns or disclosures.
• Understand the importance of accurate record keeping in safeguarding children and adults.
• Be aware of what happens after concerns are reported.
