What's Going On?

The Foundation launched its open application programme in 2025 to enable more charities and community groups to access donations.

There are two rounds of funding, with a total of £300,000 available for distribution each year, in the form of six £50,000 donations. The first round opens in March, with three successful applicants selected in May. The second round opens in June, with three donations awarded in September.

The Foundation is not currently accepting applications for funding. Please look out for further updates and revisit this page when our next round of funding opens in June 2026.

It distributes donations to charities and organisations, including those focused on:

• transforming communities through the provision of public amenities and recreational facilities
• promoting sustainable development
• social mobility and the advancement of young people and/or unemployed people through education and training
• helping people to lead more active lives through sport
• helping people to lead healthier lives, including supporting those living with health conditions and funding medical research
• helping people to overcome barriers such as poverty, disability and other disadvantages.
