What's Going On?
Pride in Place Introductory Session – Ortons
Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS) would like to invite you to join us at one of our upcoming Pride in Place Introductory Events for community organisations and local leaders. These sessions are an opportunity to find out more about the Community Listening activity that PCVS and Peterborough Citizens will be carrying out over the upcoming months.
Pride in Place, one of Peterborough’s largest community-led programmes, will see up to £20 million invested across Orton Malborne and Orton Goldhay and up to £20 million across Paston, Gunthorpe and Welland over the next ten years.
The programme is built around a simple principle; local people should help shape the future of their communities. Before decisions are made, we want to listen to residents, community groups and local organisations to better understand what matters most to them.
As trusted organisations already working within our communities, your insight, local knowledge and relationships are incredibly valuable. We’d love for you to come along to learn more about our planned programme of community listening and engagement and explore how we can work together to ensure as many local voices as possible are heard.
During the session we’ll cover:
- An introduction to Pride in Place and the opportunities it presents.
- Our community listening and engagement programme.
- Ways your organisation can get involved.
- The Workshop in a Box toolkit, enabling partners to facilitate community conversations within their own groups.
- Opportunities to work together to reach seldom-heard communities and maximise local participation.
- Time for networking, discussion and questions.
Whether you’d like to host a conversation, promote the community survey, support engagement with your service users or simply find out more, we’d be delighted to see you. This is an exciting opportunity to build strong partnerships from the outset of the programme, and we hope you’ll be part of helping shape the future of our neighbourhoods.
