Membership Help

Members sign up and dashboard HELP guide

Step 1 – Sign up screen – complete the simple set of 3 questions.

Step 2 – complete your organisation’s registration details with name and contact; set your email and password. Please make sure you are eligible for membership by reading and agreeing to the declaration. You must tick that you have read the data protection statement and privacy policy. You must also tick to agree and apply to PCVS for membership after reading the statement. You can choose to allow PCVS to pass on information which we believe in good faith is beneficial to your organisation. Then click Register.

Once registered you will receive a link to verify your email address, check junk mail folder if you do not see it.
After verifying the email follow the online link to ‘Complete your Profile’

Step 3 – Complete your profile. This is the information required by PCVS to know our members, as well as your public facing entry on the Members Directory. There are THREE sections – Basic Information, Profile, Contact details. The entries should be self-explanatory.

BASIC INFORMATION
The entries here are required by PCVS to allow us to know our members.
We also recommend you show your profile in the Members Directory unless you have reasons not to do so. To show your profile select YES in the “Display your profile publicly in the Members Directory?” box.

PROFILE
Uploading images – for example logo and photos. You can add up to 6 images including your logo. The total size of all 6 files should be less than 5MB. Note the allowed file formats, if you get one rejected it will be because it is either the wrong file type (a common one is jpg is allowed but not jpeg, simply resave and upload as a jpg) or the total of the files exceed 5MB.
Please remember that limited companies and charities should show their company registration and/or charity registration number(s) on their profile. Please add these in your organisation’s description.

CONTACT DETAILS
Name and Addresses – contact name, contact and location addresses are requested for PCVS records. These will be shown on your profile page unless you select NO. You can also have a map on your profile page, add an address for the map or select NO if you do not want the map.
Here’s an example when different privacy settings might be recommended. A tenants’ association might have a private contact address for the secretary which would not be appropriate to show on the Directory page, but meetings are held in a local community centre, which would be the ‘location’ address and can be shown. Simply tick NO for ‘show contact address’ and YES to ‘show location address’ and add the location address to the Map. You can move the pointer to be more accurate in your location as needed.

Step 4 – Review the Members Dashboard
The members dashboard allows you to access and change your Profile, Membership and Settings.

You can sign up to our mailing list to receive newsletters and bulletins, and invitations to events. Or unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email you receive from us, or by contacting us at [email protected]. The link here takes you to a short form from Mailchimp. You’ll receive a message saying to verify your email – please check your junk mail for that email! You can also verify your email with mailchimp to help prevent the newsletters going to your junk mail.

You can also directly upload your organisation’s events, to appear in our What’s Going On calendar of members events. If your event is a training event it will also appear in our Training and Infrastructure pages.

How to Add a Members Event – follow the onscreen form completing all the fields. Please note that for most community events the Event Type is likely to be ‘Support’ or ‘Other’ and the sub-category will identify to whom the event is aimed.

For example, a family fun day will be ‘other’ ‘fun day’, and an OAP’s coffee morning might be ‘Support’ ‘social’ and/or ‘leisure’.

Once submitted PCVS will review and publish your event unless we have any queries. We aim to publish events within 5 working days of submission (usually much sooner!) Any problems please email [email protected]

You're all set! Member only areas

Now you are a registered member you can log in and access more content.

On the Training and infrastructure page you will see additional online courses that PCVS has curated. In addition there are additional resources such as downloadable spreadsheets and templates, presentation video links to some of our courses and workshops, slide packs from training days and more.

The Funding page will now show you the lists of funders with links to their pages to apply and for more information. These are funders are listed by closing date and by area of interest. Give yourself enough time to make your application by searching ahead on the closing date, rather than by looking at funding sources that close in the current month!

We hope you enjoy exploring the resources and we are always open to suggestions from our members on how to improve. If you have any suggestions please email [email protected] with the title ‘members suggestion’. Thanks!
