On the 1st of July, James and John from PCVS, along with Donna and Esther from the National Institute for Health and Care Research, were at St John’s Church to support Sara More, one of Peterborough’s Community Research Champions with an event to promote the benefits of taking part in health and care research. The work was funded by a PPIE innovation grant from the NIHR. We also ran a short survey around barriers to research, and filmed some short interviews with people about their past research experiences.

One of the things we hear really consistently is that it’s important for researchers to make sure that the findings of their research is available to the communities they’ve been working with. In that spirit, we’ve put together a short report and an infographic with some of they key findings which you can find below; we intend to make sure some paper copies are available directly at St John’s Church on Cathedral Square in the near future.

Our colleagues at the NIHR are putting together a shareable video from all the conversations we filmed on the day. We’ll share it with you as soon as it’s ready!
