Over the past 30 years Kirsteen has worked across a broad spectrum of the public and voluntary sectors, beginning in the mid 90’s working with young people and their communities on the streets of Coventry, continuing with roles across the Midlands that have spanned education, health, social care, family support, and participatory arts; eventually leading to her most recent position as CEO of a local charity for family carers.
Alongside her employments, she has regularly volunteered and taken on governance roles at local charities and schools, all of which has helped to build experience and understanding of how policy development and decision making processes can positively impact on people’s lives. Throughout all of her professional and voluntary roles, Kirsteen has remained committed to supporting individuals and groups with a particular focus on those within our communities who are most vulnerable to societal changes and have the greatest needs.
On a personal level, she is a great advocate of spending time in the natural environment to maintain good mental and physical wellbeing, making use of the family campervan to enjoy the local countryside whenever possible – although this can often be dependent on the unpredictable British weather!
Upon her appointment Kirsteen said; "I am really excited to be joining the amazing team at PCVS, and look forward to working with all local stakeholders to continue the work of this long standing, well respected charity."
