Jonathan enjoyed a distinguished international career in investment banking, holding senior executive positions with leading global financial institutions. As Vice President, he led strategic business development and managed major commercial relationships across international markets, delivering significant growth and long-term partnerships
Alongside his professional career, Jonathan has devoted more than 30 years to public service and voluntary leadership. He served SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, rising from local branch leadership to National Trustee and National Vice Chairman, and led the charity’s first strategic review in its 130-year history. In recognition of his service, he was appointed MBE in Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Birthday Honours in 2012 and awarded SSAFA Honorary Life Membership in 2019.
Appointed by the Minister of State for Veterans as Chairman of the East of England Veterans Advisory and Pensions Committee, Jonathan advised government on veterans’ welfare, equality of access and delivery of the Armed Forces Covenant across the region.
A Presiding Justice since 2006 and a Freeman of the City of London, Jonathan is a prominent civic and community leader. He chairs Healthwatch Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and the Peterborough Cathedral Preservation Trust, serves on the Board of the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and Peterborough City Council’s Towns Fund Board, and mentors entrepreneurs and social enterprises through the Allia Future Business Centre.
In 2026, he was appointed inaugural Chair of one of Peterborough’s Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards, bringing together residents, businesses and public services to drive community-led improvements and strengthen neighbourhood pride.
Jonathan joined the Board of Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service (PCVS) in 2022.
